Guadalupe Martinez

Guadalupe Martinez   Guadalupe Martinez, 65, of Wharton, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at a Richmond hospital surrounded by loving family. He was born on December 12, 1952, in Pierce, Texas to the late Faustino and Paula Torres Martinez.   Guadalupe was raised in Pierce and graduated from Wharton High School. Guadalupe worked in construction most of his life. He enjoyed watching old Western movies on television, spending time with his family, but mostly liked to work hard. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eulalio Martinez.   Guadalupe is survived by his loving family including, sister, Guadalupe Limas and husband Roy, and brother, Natividad Martinez and wife, Estella all of Wharton, with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.   Visitation will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018 starting at 5:00 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton with Rev. Antonio Perez officiating. Burial with rite of committal will be in Glen Flora Cemetery in Cresent.   Pallbearers will be Daniel Limas, Solomon Limas, Eulalio Martinez, Jr., Natividad Martinez, Jr., Thomas Martinez, and Alexander Martinez.   Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.  Condolences may be left at whartonfuneralhome.com.
