Herman Frank Kucera

Herman Frank Kucera, 94 years old, of Wharton passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023. He was born on August 24, 1929 in Wallis, TX to the late Joe Pete Kucera and Stefina Silva Kucera. He attended schools in Wharton. He served our country honorably in the US Army. During the Korea War he was awarded the Purple Heart medal and the Korean Service Medal with 5 bronze stars and the Combat Infantryman's badge. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. He married Carline Krause Kucera on October 18, 1955 in Wharton, TX. Herman Frank Kucera is preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Joe, and Bill Kucera, and sisters, Gladys Cerny, Frances Wessels and Mildred Stavinoha. He is survived by his wife Carline Kucera, brothers and sisters-in law, Herbert and Lillie Mae Kucera of Wharton, Tony and Linda Kucera of Van Vleck, sisters, Helen Konvicka of Wharton, and Georgia Kaspar of El Campo as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass to be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Father Charles Dwomoh officiating. A Rite of Burial and committal will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Tony Kucera, Jr., Craig Kucera, Eric Kucera, Kade Kucera, Ryan Jones, John Turner, Timmy Stavinoha and Dennis Stavinoha.
