Irene Cantu Juarez

Irene Juarez, 70, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 in a Victoria hospital.  She was born in New Gulf, Texas to the late Julian and Guadalupe Bermudes Cantu.

Irene was raised in the Boling area and graduated from Boling High School. She worked for a café before her marriage to Jose Juarez on December 10, 1977. Irene and Jose enjoyed dancing, watching MMA Boxing and baking for friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sonia Cantu, brother, Ignacio Cantu and brother-in-law, Andrew Botello.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Juarez of Boling, sisters, Ophelia Botello and Rebecca Montoya and husband, Manuel of Boling, brothers, Julian Cantu, Jr. and wife, Nina of Magnolia, and Juan Cantu of Boling, sister-in-law, Esther Cantu of Bay City and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, July 29 after 5 pm with a rosary recited at 7pm at Wharton Funeral Home. Mass and Rite of Committal will be on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 10 am at St Joseph Mission Church in Boling. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
