Jakob Tyler Gentry passed into the arms of the Lord on December 21, 2020 at Hermann Memorial Hospital, Houston.  He was born March 20, 2002 in Galveston, TX to Brandi Castillo and Mitchell Gentry. 

Jakob was a resident of Wharton and was due to graduate Wharton High School this coming year.  Jakob loved to cook, fish and play with all the babies of the family.

Jakob is survived by his parents Brandi Renee Castillo and her husband Jason James of Wharton & Mitchell Gentry and his wife Yesenia of El Campo. His step-daughter Kaiden ‘KK’ Garcia.  Jakob is also survived by his siblings Angel ‘Sadie” Gentry, Emerald Gentry, Laila James, Pearl Gentry, Jade Gentry, Brandon James, Jason ‘JD’ James, Miguel Mendoza and Mitchel Gentry, 3^rd.  He will also be missed by his nieces Scarlett Mendoza and Crimsyn Mendoza, his grandparents John Castillo, Sr. and his wife Sylvia of Wharton and many aunts, uncles cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are welcome to pay their respects on Thursday December 31^st from 9:30 – 11:15 am at the Wharton Funeral Home, 515 E. Boling Hwy.  Funeral service will begin at 12:00 P.M. Interment will be private.
