A Celebration of Life for James Daniel Dusek

October 21, 1943 – December 8, 2024

With deep faith and love, we celebrate the life of James Daniel Dusek, who entered eternal rest on December 8, 2024, in Sugar Land, Texas, at the age of 81.

James was born on October 21, 1943, in East Bernard, Texas, to Charles and Olga (Smaistrla) Dusek, who preceded him in death. A devout Catholic, James lived his life guided by his faith, serving as a long-standing member of the Wallis Knights of Columbus.

James was a man of many passions, including playing golf and ranching, which brought him joy and fulfillment throughout his life. He found purpose and meaning in caring for his land, spending time outdoors, and sharing his love of these pursuits with family and friends.

He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He is survived by his siblings: Donald Dusek, Charles Dusek and wife, Diana (Monroe) Dusek; Clarice (Dusek) Henry and her husband, Greg Henry; Kenneth Dusek and his wife, Kathryn (Kubes) Dusek; and Dianne (Dusek) Emmons. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Madelyn (Rod) Dusek, the wife of his late brother, Allen Gerard Dusek. He now joins Allen and his nephews, Brad Dusek and Daniel Emmons, in eternal rest.

James was a devoted father to Mark Dusek and his wife, Bobbie (Spencer) Dusek; Kimberly (Dusek) Kocian and her husband, Henry Kocian; Christine (Dusek) Ramsey and her partner, Mick Stafford. He cherished his role as grandfather to seven grandchildren and great grandfather to two great grandchildren, whose laughter and love enriched his days. He is also lovingly remembered by his former wife, Francis “Tina” (York) Dusek, with whom he shared the blessings of family.

James’s life was a testament to faith, love, and resilience. His kind spirit, generosity, and steadfast devotion to family and community leave an enduring legacy.
