Janice Eileen Hopper, 76, of Ennis, TX, peacefully passed away on February 23, 2021 after a brave, but difficult battle with Alzheimer’s.
Janice was born on February 9, 1945 to Fred and Katherine Isenhower in Wharton, Texas. She was raised in the town of Lissie, TX. After graduating from East Bernard High School in 1963, she attended Sam Houston State University for 2 years before meeting her husband Jim Edward Hopper of Weslaco, TX. Janice and Jim were married for 28 years and had two children, Stephanie and Jason. They lived in Alief, TX from 1973 until 1996.
Janice was a Preschool teacher for more than 30 years and shaped hundreds of young lives with love and laughter. Teaching was one of her greatest joys and where she left her legacy. In 1997, Janice moved to Lewisville, TX where she continued to teach preschool, and later to Ennis, TX in 2012.
Janice was predeceased by Fred Isenhower (father) and Katherine Isenhower (mother). She is survived by Nelson Isenhower (brother), Stephanie Medina (daughter), Steve Medina (son-in-law), Jason Hopper (son), Rachel Hopper (daughter-in-law), Avery Hopper (granddaughter), Braden Hopper (grandson), Carson Hopper (grandson), and Camden Hopper (granddaughter).
A private burial service will be held at the Lissie Cemetery on March 31, 2021. A celebration of life ceremony will be planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ennis, TX Boys and Girls Club.
