It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jose 'Joe' Fonseca Moreno, 68, of Needville, Texas. Joe passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at a Sugar Land hospital. He was born on October 14, 1955, in El Campo, Texas to the late Reyes and Felipa Fonseca Moreno.
Joe was raised in Sheridan, Texas, a little town southwest of Houston. He married his loving wife, Maria Natalia Vasquez, on September 4, 1973. Joe worked as a turbine mechanic within the greater Houston area, at companies such as Houston Lighting & Power, Reliant Energy, Texas Genco, CenterPoint Energy, and NRG. He enjoyed reading his Bible, listening to and playing music, working in his garage, working on his truck, playing ball, spending time with his family, taking day trips with his wife, and spoiling his grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maria Moreno of Needville, his sons, Christopher Moreno and wife, Ada of Needville, David Moreno and wife, Amy of Richmond, and Jonathan Moreno and wife, Yaquelin of Needville, his sisters, Felicia Alaniz, Rosie Mata, and Hope Moreno, brothers Paul Moreno, John Moreno, Tim Moreno, and Lupe Moreno, Epifanio Gonzales, and his precious grandchildren, Allison, Victoria, Sarah, Dylan, Brooke, Helen, and Audrianna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Consuelo Moreno.
A Celebration of Joe's life will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at 5pm at Creekside Christian Fellowship in Needville. Joe will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
