John Stanford, 65, of Wharton, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on October 6, 2024. Born on February 11, 1959, in Beaumont, TX to the late Edwin Curtis Stanford and Ann Joiner Lee.
John graduated from Wharton High School in 1977 and embarked on a successful career in technical operations at Crown Cork and Seal, where his dedication and skill were widely recognized. Devoted to his family, John adored his wife Tammy and cherished spending time with her. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace in hunting deer, fishing, and working on various projects, including restoring a 1950's Chevy Pickup - a labor of love that reflected his craftsmanship and determination. He found immense joy in sharing moments with his grandson, creating memories that will undoubtedly linger in the hearts of his loved ones for years to come.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Tammy Lindberg Stanford, daughter, Briana Jane Stanford, son, Curtis Wayne Stanford and grandson, Mason Laake all of Wharton, his Dad, Raymond E. Lee of Wharton; sister, Nora Chalue and brother, Kevin Stanford; along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Wharton Funeral Home starting at 5:00 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Friday October 11, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 10:00 am, where friends and family will come together to remember and pay their respects to a cherished individual who will forever hold a special place in their hearts. A Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Randy Ramey, Alan Krenek, Jeff Barker, Terry Weekley, Seth Roach, and Myrvle Lindberg, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are his grandson, Mason Laake and all his nieces and nephews.
