Jose Alberto Betancourt November 27, 1964 – November 8, 2023 Jose Betancourt, 58, of Palacios passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in a Houston hospital following a sudden illness. He was born on November 27, 1964, in Mexico to the late Maria Garza Betancourt and Enrique Betancourt. Jose was raised in Mexico and attended school there. He moved to the Palcios area when he was 17. Jose married Vilda Morin on April 14, 1996. He was a machine operator for R.L.B Contracting for many years. He loved being at home, outside with his plants, entertaining his grandchildren and just being active. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rosaura and his grandchild, Uriah. Jose will be missed by his wife, Vilda Betancourt, daughters, Monika Gallardo Garrow and husband, Chris, Kori Roy, Maria Chacon and husband, Lupe, and Kimberly Betancourt, sons, Darryl Gallardo, Jarred Roy and wife, Samantha, Jose Alberto Betancourt, Jr. and wife, Angeles and Mikey Betancourt, sisters, Migdalia and husband, Felix Mario, Idalia and husband, Vicente, Maria Graciela aand husband, Guadalupe, and Diana and husband, Juan Jose, brothers, Enrique Betancourt and wife, Lupina, Martin Betancourt and wife, Emma and Juvel Betancourt and wife, Eliza, grandchildren, Donovan, Ashton, Kathy, Natalia, Andres Jose, Prynce and Angel. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 after 12 noon at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home of Wharton.
