Josephine Brem Davis

July 3, 1931-March 10, 2020 

Josephine Brem Davis left this world surrounded by her family, going to join her Husband and sons that passed before her. Josie was born July 3, 1931 in Tours, Texas and passed away on March 10, 2020 in Lake Jackson. She grew up and graduated from West Columbia High School in 1950. She was a devoted wife and Mother. She loved to Polka dance,  listen to Polka music, play dominos and loved kolaches. She was a great cook and her home was open to everyone. She spent many years living in Pearland Tx and was co-owner with her husband of Davis Water Well. They later owned “Big D’s” barbecue restaurant in West Columbia.  

After her husband’s death, she spent her last 6 years living with her daughter Marilyn in Lake Jackson. She loved to take road trips and go to the casino. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Davis, twin sons Ronnie and Donnie Davis, brother-in-law Jimmy R Davis and her two brothers Oscar Brem and John Brem. 

She is survived by her son Larry Davis and daughter-in-law Margaret of Boling, daughter Marilyn Walters of Lake Jackson and daughter Kathy Jenkins of Van  Vleck and her granddaughter she raised from birth Lindsay Simons. She is survived by her sister Adalee Brem Davis of Sweeny and a special “sister by heart” her best friend for 70 years, Annie Mae Wallis of West Columbia Tx. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren who adored her and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10am- 2pm (before the service) on Monday March 16, 2020 at Wharton Funeral Home, with her service starting at 2pm with Reverend Moore officiating. A following service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton, Tx. 

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Christopher Davis, Jason Davis, Michael Davis, Justin Walters, Daniel Jenkins and Ismael Ochoa. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brad Burns and Jack Hisey.
