LaVerne Muesse Obenhaus
LaVerne Muesse Obenhaus, age 92, of Wharton and formerly of Eagle Lake passed away Tuesday morning, January 14, 2020 at Oakbend Medical Center in Richmond.
She was born September 15, 1927, in Ellinger, Texas, the daughter of the late John and Minnie Muesse. She married Dick Wayne Obenhaus, November 8, 1945. She worked for many years in the Eagle Lake and Rice Consolidated School Districts in the food service area.
LaVerne is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Obenhaus, son Gerald Wayne Obenhaus, and daughter Judith Marie Chambers and her sisters Gladys Semora and Viola Kettler. She is survived by her son-in-law Charles Chambers of Wharton, daughter-in-law Ardine Obenhaus of Humble; grandson Jeffrey Chumchal and wife, Amy of Wharton; granddaughters Nickie Obenhaus Parker and husband, Shane of Atlanta, Georgia, Stacey Obenhaus Landrith and husband Jim of Humble and Holly Obenhaus Smith and husband Jeremy of Orange; great grandchildren, Aubrey, Whitney and Kelsey Chumchal, Noah and Claire Landrith and Cooper, Jada and Walker Smith along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Lakeside Cemetery in Eagle Lake with Rev. Tony Wishert officiating.
