Lee Roy Anton Dornak, 83, of Wharton, TX passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 2, 1935 in El Campo, Texas to the late Charlie and Marie Furch Dornak. Lee Roy was raised in El Campo and Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School. He was a member of the United States Army Reserve and a 3rddegree member of the Wharton Knights of Columbus. Lee Roy was a paint contractor with Legler & Dornak, which he and George Legler, Jr. established in 1956 and worked side by side for 48 plus years. He was a loving man who cherished all the times spent with his family and friends. Some of his favorite times included fishing, hunting, crabbing and picking pecans. Many days you could find him outside tinkering in his garage or feeding his pet squirrels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Arvil Dornak and nephews Troy Johnson and Carl Priesmeyer, Jr. Lee Roy is survived by his son, Keith Dornak and wife, Doris of Wharton, daughters Karen Womack and husband, Johnny of Katy and Janet Hoffman and husband, Albert of Wharton, granddaughters Krystal Baca and husband, Michael, Mallory Hoelscher and husband, Kyle and Kristi Hoffman, grandsons Trey Hoffman, John Hoffman and wife, Lecia along with great grandchildren Kase and Kelbie Baca, Nolan, Presley and Gage Hoffman and Jackson Hoffman, sister, Charlene Johnson and her daughter, Robbin Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 4:30 pm Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will begin at 5 pm with memorial services starting at 6 p.m. at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton with Rev. Debbie Cenko officiating. Honorary pallbearers are George Legler, Jr., Bill Hubenak, J.V. Dornak, Clarence Ermis, Trey Hoffman, John Hoffman, Michael Baca, Kyle Hoelscher, Trent Barker, David Garza and members of the Knights of Columbus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Wharton County Youth Fair or Wharton County Cares.
