Lee Lemson Lee Lemson, 72, of Wharton, TX passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at a Hillje nursing center following a lengthy illness. He was born on September 13, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Ben Lemson and Jean Baicher Etonia. Lee was born in the Chicago area. By the time he was ten years old his family settled in San Diego. He later graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Music and later a Masters’ in Education and finished his education with a Masters’ in Sacred Music at Southern Methodist University. He married Debra Rucker in Baldwin City Kansas on November 23, 1979. Needless to say, Lee loved music, having come to First United Methodist Church in 1979; later, he was the Choir Director for Wharton County Junior College for over 23 years, retiring in 2013. Lee was a happy man whose love of people and music were apparent to the end of his life. He is remembered by many students he taught as fun-loving, and he helped develop a love of music. Lee knew what was possible in God, and how to encourage those around him to bring it about. This was evident in his family, his church, and his choirs. Lee is survived by his wife of 38 years, Debra Lemson of Wharton, son Jason Lemson of Carlsbad, CA, sister, Diane Lemson Powell and husband, Richard of Encinitas, CA. He is also survived by many friends and former students that will miss him dearly. Following cremation, memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10 am at the Grace Community Fellowship church in Wharton with Rev. Michael Limas officiating.
