Leonard Delphin Stammann

Leonard Stammann, 93, of Wharton, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Rosenberg Health and Rehab surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 14, 1931, in Wharton, Texas to the late Delphin and Rose Valis Stammann.

Leonard was raised in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School in 1949. He served our country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Leonard married JoAnne Henneke on July 23, 1955, in Mentz, Texas. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2000. Leonard was a trained electrician, working at Gulf States Tube for 15 years before working for the Baylor Company for 27 years. Leonard loved to go fishing, artistic painting and was an avid reader of books. Leonard enjoyed being a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He could be found every morning at Holy Family Catholic Church, keeping his devotion to God first in his life. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Vivian Stammann and Ruth McGwier.

Leonard is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Rohan and William of Cat Spring, sons, Delphin Stammann and wife, Sherry of Richmond and Chris Stammann and wife, Kimberly of Needville, brother, Daniel Stammann of Missouri, grandchildren, Erica Aguilar, Arielle Newsome, Joshua Rohan, Brian Rohan, Tracy Stammann, Megan Stammann, Orin Stammann, Leah Stammann, and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held for the public at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass following, Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton at 10 a.m.
