Maria Esthela Cuevas de Quintero passed into the arms of the Lord on January 12, 2021 at Oakbend in Richmond following a brief illness.  She was born January 14, 1949 in Linares Nuevo Leon Mexico to the late Macario Cuevas and Esperanza Montes Cuevas.

Maria was a longtime resident of Linares and attended school there. She married the love of her life, Guadalupe de Jesus Quintero on July 5, 1969 in Linares.  She was a homemaker all her life, and a loving mother, who enjoyed cooking, gardening,  and her flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Rigoberto and Guadalupe Cuevas.

She is survived by her husband, Guadalupe Quintero of Wharton, children, Nancy Villanueva, Analilia Olmedo, Angelica Maria Quintanilla, Guadalupe Quintero, Jr., Veronica Olmedo, Rigoberto Quintero, Claudia Olmedo, Ivan Quintero, and Daniel Quintero, 30 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild with another on the way, siblings, Angel Cuevas, Macario Cuevas, Jorge Cuevas, Noe Cuevas, Esther Cuevas, Esperanza Cuevas, Socorro Cuevas, Blanca Cuevas and Alicia Cuevas, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects Friday, January 15^th  after 11 am at the Wharton Funeral Home, 515 E. Boling Hwy. with a rosary service to begin at 6:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 16^th at 10:00 a.m. at Wharton Funeral Home. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Wharton.
