Martha M. Hardy (nee Orsak) passed into the arms of the Lord on December 14, 2020 at Kindred Hospital in Sugar Land, she was 101 years young.  She was born January 30, 1919 in East Bernard but spent most of her life in Wharton. 

Martha was a lifelong resident of Wharton and attended school at Wharton High School where she graduated in 1935. She married the love of her life Paul on May 22, 1949.  They were married for 53 years until his death in 2002.  She was known all over town for the pies that she baked and  her time she spent helping out at Holy Family parish.  But her true joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah Cline (the late David) of Sargent, TX and her son Gary Hardy and his wife Regina of Olive Branch, MS.  Martha is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Relatives are invited to her viewing on Thursday December 17, 2020 from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M. at Wharton Funeral Home 515 E. Boling Hwy Wharton, TX.  After the viewing all are invited to her graveside service at 2:00 P.M. at Wharton City cemetery where Martha will be laid to rest beside her husband Paul.  There will be no procession from the funeral home to the cemetery, we will meet at 2:00 pm with Fr. Sam Appiasi officiating.
