She was born on October 3, 1934, in Ganado, Texas, to her parents who instilled in her the values of kindness, generosity, and resilience. Mary's legacy will forever live on through her cherished family members. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Marina Ramirez, and son-in-law Mel Ramirez; Margie Zavala, and son-in-law Juan Zavala, as well as her son, Jessie Aguilar, were a constant source of pride and happiness. Mary's sisters, Elvira Salazar, and Dolores Rodriguez, held a special place in her heart, sharing a bond that only siblings understand. She adored her granddaughter, Jessica Garza Penrice, and grandsons Ricardo Sosa, Jessie Joe Aguilar, Jr., and Joshua Isiah Ramirez, who brought endless laughter and countless memories to her life. Mary's great-grandchildren, Galesha, Gale, Jr., Gabriel, Mariah, Joliegh Jade, Michael Jason, Jessie Joe III, Janelle Ann, and Adriel Rene, were a ray of sunshine and a source of immense joy for her. During her lifetime, Mary found solace in the simple pleasures that life had to offer. She enjoyed the art of sewing, meticulously crafting exquisite garments. Her eyes lit up when she won at bingo or scratched off a winning lottery ticket. Mary was a dedicated fan of both the Cowboys and the Longhorns, never missing a game where she could cheer on her favorite teams. She found comfort in watching novellas, becoming engrossed in the tales of love, drama, and triumph. Above all, Mary cherished moments spent with her family, creating lasting bonds and unforgettable memories that will be treasured forever. The family of Mary Aguilar extends their gratitude to all those who provided love, support, and care during her final days. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, starting at 5 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with Father Sam Appiasi officiating. A Rite of Burial and committal will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Ganado, Tx. Serving as pallbearers are her grandchildren.
