Mary Marcelle Matula Hohensee Mary Hohensee, 87, of Wharton, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at The Elmcroft Assisted Living Center, Conroe, Texas. She was born in Hallettsville, Texas on September 21, 1930, to the late John and Anna Barton Matula. Mary was raised in the Hallettsville area and attended school there. She married Calvin John Hohensee on June 18, 1951. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2015. Mary worked for Security Bank and Trust for many years, as a Teller/Proof Operator. She enjoyed fishing, dancing, watching the Astros, going to the casino, playing Bingo and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for many years, the KJZT and a member of the Holy Family Fellowship Club. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, son-in-law, David Lowe, and grandson, Jarred Hohensee. Mary is survived by her daughter; Debbie Lowe of Wharton, sons; Ronnie Hohensee of Wharton, Randy Hohensee and wife, Sherry of Victoria and David Hohensee and wife, Patsy of Conroe, grandchildren, Jason Lowe and wife, Zia, Dusty Lowe, Heather Hohensee Cassidy and husband Chism, Ashley Hohensee Stair and husband Justin, Michael Hohensee, Kourtney Hohensee, Chelsey Hohensee, Ronnie Hebert and wife Alyssa, great grandchildren, Gibson, Gemma, Brinley, Savannah, Breanna, Alania and McKenna. Visitation will be held Friday, June 22, 2018 starting at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton. Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Father Bob Knippenberg officiating. The rite of committal and burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
