Mercedes G. Dominguez, 88, of Tomball and formerly of Wharton, passed away on March 1, 2020. He was born in Wharton County on September 24, 1931 to Ruperto Palomo Gonzales Dominguez and Francisca Gonzales Dominguez.
Mercedes attended schools in Wharton county. On July 17, 1950 her married the love of his life, Anita C Dominguez and together they raised 6 children. Mercedes was a deeply devout member of the Mormon faith. He showed his love for Jesus Christ and others through his daily actions. He was a loving nurturing husband and father and later grandfather. He drove 18 wheelers all of his life and he loved it. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anita of 68 years and his sisters, Maria Garcia, Felipa Serra and Ophelia Zavala.
He is survived by his sons: Rudy Mercedes Jr, Armando C. and Andrew Dominguez; daughters, Mary D Whitfield, Sonia Dominguez and Deanna Bryant and one son in law, Maurice Whitfield; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Wharton Funeral Home followed by Funeral services to begin at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Fred Bryant, Jr, Nicholas Martinez, Nick Mendoza, Rudy Rivera, Daniel Sanchez and Daniel Dominguez.
