Noemi A Martinez

Noemi A. Martinez, 89, of Rosenberg, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.  Noemi was born on February 14, 1930, in Anson, Texas,  to the late Tomas and Aurelia Palomo Andrade.

Noemi was raised in Anson and attended school there. She married Oscar S. Martinez on August 1, 1950 in Wharton. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2013. She was a homemaker all her married life. Noemi enjoyed plants, she had a green thumb and was able to make anything grow. She loved decorating her home and always made it look beautiful, both inside and out.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Oscar Martinez, Jr. in 1994.

Noemi is survived by her daughters, Anna Jaime (Mario) of San Antonio, and Irma Blackmore (Bill) of Richmond, sons, Jason Martinez(Kelli) of Rosenberg, and Robert Martinez(Heather) of Nederland, sister, Ruth Hernandez of California and brothers, David Andrade of Corpus Christi and Elias Andrade of San Antonio, grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicole, Ashley, Colby, Chase, Cody, Jordan, Emilio, Ryan, Stephen and Reagan along with great grandchildren, Clarissa, Josiah, Mason, Malachi, Justin, Aaliyah, Maria Lynn, Christian Hayden, Kolby, Kamden, Camila, Chloe and Grace.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Wharton Funeral Home after 6 pm. A prayer service will be held at 7pm. The funeral service will begin at 11 am Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Pena officiating.  Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton with Colby Blackmore, Chase Blackmore, Jordan Martinez, Cody Boatwright, Stephen Martinez and Justin Blackmore serving as pallbearers and Emilio Villareal-Martinez as honorary pallbearer.
