Rae Harling Hunt Wilson

Rae Wilson, 87, of Wharton and formerly of Dover, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at her residence. She was born on May 1, 1937, in Hartford, CT to the late Lt. Col. Henry and Ardena Holmes Hunt.

Rae was raised in Rochester, New Hampshire. She married Walter F. Wilson, Jr. in 1957. He preceded her in death in 2019. Rae worked as a legal secretary for many years. She enjoyed reading, playing cards especially Bridge, bowling, square dancing, and being heavily involved with her church. She was a member of the Rainbow Girls and of the E9er group of retired Air Force Members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rev. Marshall Hunt and son-in-law, Michael Grissom.

Rae is survived by her daughters, Donna Grissom of Wharton, and Lira Groth and husband, Jim of Chicago, IL, sister, Nancy Hopkins of PA, grandchildren, Stephanie Grissom, Heather Harrell and husband, Trey, Eriksen Groth and Maddy Ryan.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 2 pm at the St Thomas Episcopal Church in Wharton. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover, New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Thomas Episcopal Church, 207 Bob-O-Link, Wharton, Texas 77488
