Rebecca Harlow, 65, of Wharton, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 following injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Matagorda County. She was born in Wharton, Texas on January 20, 1953, a daughter of the late William Andrew and Shirley May Smith Edwards. Becky was raised in the Boling area and graduated from Boling High School with the class of 1971. She later attended and graduated from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. She became a teacher of Spanish and English classes at the high school level. She recently received her Masters degree from Abilene Christian University. Becky, who thought of herself as Señora Harlow, enjoyed everything about the Spanish culture that she taught, even living in Quintana Roo, Mexico for a period of time. She also enjoyed her dogs, watching old western movies and getting pedicures. An avid animal lover, she also always put her family first and above all, she loved God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Edwards. Becky is survived by her daughters, Summer Harlow of Houston, and Shauna Harlow of Farmington, New Mexico, sister, Ginger Lloyd of Austin and brothers, Clifford Edwards and husband, Dan Weinberg of Houston and Robin Edwards and wife, Susan of Euless, and her grandchildren, Leia and Ethan. Following cremation, Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 2 pm at Abell Street Church of Christ.
