Robert Bourg
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Bourg of East Bernard, a dedicated welder known for his unwavering faith and love for the simple pleasures of life. Born on January 28, 1940, in Houma, LA, Robert's journey on this earth came to a peaceful end on August 30, 2024.
Throughout his life, Robert found solace in the pages of the Bible, having read it a remarkable 13 times. His devotion to daily readings served as a steadfast source of inspiration and guidance. Beyond his spiritual pursuits, Robert had a passion for nature and spent countless hours tending to his yard, nurturing trees, and peeling pecans with meticulous care.
A skilled craftsman, Robert's workshop was a sanctuary where he meticulously organized nuts and bolts, and ingeniously repaired everything from lawn mowers to household appliances. His talent for fixing things extended to his culinary skills, where he effortlessly concocted delicious meals by instinctively mixing ingredients.
Robert's engaging nature shone through in his storytelling, particularly when delving into topics about Aliens and UFOs, capturing the imagination of those around him. His tales will echo in the hearts of his loved ones for years to come. In addition to his parents, Willard Bourg and Anna Farkas Bourg, he was preceeded in death by his wife, Cheryl Bourg.
He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Lee Kulhanek and husband, Bernard and son, Kevin Bourg and wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren Nikki, Ryan and Bryan Kulhanek and Damian, Deanna, and Dominic Bourg as well as his great grandchildren Evelynn and Starr.
In honoring Robert's life and legacy, funeral services and ceremonies, where friends and family will come together to reflect on his remarkable journey, will be held in the near future. Details of these gatherings will be shared in due course.
Rest in peace, Robert Bourg, your spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
