Robert James Heimann, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024, at his home in East Bernard, TX, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Braunfels, TX, on October 16, 1949, to the late Frank Heimann and Estelle Patek Heimann. Robert was a proud Texan who cherished his Czech heritage and remained devoted to his family, God, and country throughout his life.
Robert developed a strong work ethic and a passion for vehicles, inspired by watching his father work on engines. This love of vehicles would eventually lead him to drive trucks. He worked for Hudson products as a machinist and supervisor, where he exemplified his strong work ethic and dedication. With a heart full of love for his family, Robert enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Robert's love for music and passion for entertaining shone through when he played the accordion for his family, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He served in the Army reserves and consistently displaying his uncompromised pride for his country, Robert was often seen wearing his patriotic cap, a symbol of his unwavering patriotism.
Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen Heimann of East Bernard; daughters, Deanna Lynn Reeves of East Bernard, Susan Kaye Davis and husband, Justin of East Bernard, and Ann Marie Matocha and husband, Ryan of Katy; sons, William “Billy” Wayne Heimann and wife, Amanda of East Bernard and John Robert Heimann and wife, Nikki of East Bernard; sister Shirley Price and husband, Brian of Houston; brother Edward Heimann and wife, Anna of Wharton; grandchildren: Garrett and Lance Heimann, Shelby and Tessa Reeves, Gabe Heimann, Michael & Caleb Gatlin, Cody Heimann, Jett and Savannah Davis and Brooklyn Matocha. Along with numerous nieces and nephews and close family friends. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Joseph Heimann, and brothers, Kenneth Heimann and Joseph Heimann.
Family and friends are invited to visit and pay their respects at the visitation on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Wharton Funeral Home starting at 5:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. by Eddie & Anna Heimann. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard, TX. with Father Charles Otsiwah officiating. A Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Military Honors given by American Legion Post #226 of East Bernard.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations made to the American Lung Association, Houston Hospice or POW-MIA.
