  Robert Wayne “Bubba” Konvicka

Robert ‘Bubba’ Konvicka passed into the arms of the Lord on August 24, 2021 in a Richmond Hospital, he was 66.  Robert was born on August 15, 1955 in Wharton, TX to the late Ruby (Pokrant) and Edward Konvicka. 

Robert grew up in Newgulf and lived in Wharton for the last 34 years.  He was a member of the Boling High School State Championship team in 1972.   On November 11, 1978, he married Mary Monica Konvicka at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton.  Throughout his career he ran heavy equipment, first at Texasgulf for 19 years and then with his own business, Konvicka Backhoe Service.  In his free time, he loved fishing, hunting, casino gambling and BBQ’ing. 

Robert is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary, his Godparents Stanley and Bessie Konvicka of Wharton, his sisters Mary Jane Spacek and her husband Steve of Angleton, Joyce Elaine Waligura and her husband Wally of Fredericksburg and Deborah Gail Konvicka of Boling. 

A rosary will be said on Friday August 27^th at 9:30 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Wharton. Memorial mass to begin at 10:00 A.M.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
