Steve Jones
December 30, 1957 – August 20, 2021
Steve Jones, of Boling Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, August 20, 2021. Steve retired in February 2020 after over 45 years of being a diesel mechanic. He was known and respected for his keen knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines. He loved life, small children, animals, and fishing. He enjoyed helping others, cooking for benefits and friends. He will be remembered for his jokes, stories and always having a song that was fitting for the occasion. His ex-wife, Debi Felder remained friends with him 30 years after their divorce and said if she had to describe Steve with one word that word would be loyal. He was loyal to those he cared about and expected loyalty in return. If you broke the loyalty code you were dead to Steve.
He was an amazing son to his mom. He did all her shopping for the last two years to keep her home and safe from Covid. He was a good grocery shopper. He joined her multiple evenings each week for dinner, and surprised her with dinner at least once a week. He took care of her house, car and yard with great diligence. This is a picture of Steve last Thanksgiving with the watermelon that he grew and we had with our Thanksgiving dinner. He brought us another one at Christmas.
Steve was far from perfect, he made mistakes and had regrets. If you loved him, you loved him unconditionally. He will be missed by many. The world will not make sense without Steve. He is preceded in death by his brother Ken Denton, and dad Dan Denton. He is survived by his mom, Marie Denton and loving family and friends, who all agree, “Steve did it his way”.
The family is grateful to all who helped and prayed for Steve. Our wish for all is to enjoy every day, love deeply, forgive easily, get medical checkups, and Trust God.
