Sue Ellen Caldwell passed into the arms of the lord on Tuesday March 9, 2021 at Oakbend Memorial Hospital in Wharton. Sue was born on July 6, 1944 in Angleton, TX to the late Ellen and Gerald Kennedy.  

Sue was a lifetime resident of Wharton and married the love of her life Robert at his parents’ house in Wharton on November 18, 1961 and spent 53 years happily married until his death on November 10, 2014.  Her family fondly remembers her as being strongly devoted to her faith, loving to talk about horses and barrel racing but her true joy in life was her kids and her grandkids.

Sue is survived by her children Amanda Ruth Caldwell of Wharton, Deborah Sue O’Quinn of Bay City, Rodney Norris Matthews and Ava Hensley of Wharton and Robert L. Caldwell, Jr of Wharton.  She is also survived by her siblings Geraldine Waller of Egypt, TX, Valrie Gann and her husband Larry of El Campo, Gerald W. Kennedy of Wharton, Wayne Frankim of Wharton, and 5 grandchildren.  Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her sisters Wilma O’ Wise and  Martha J. Frankim.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service on Friday March 12^th at 11:00 A.M. at Wharton Funeral Home 515 E. Boling Hwy.  Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Wharton.  There will be no visitation, service only.
