Sybil Louise Elliott, age 88, of Sugarland, Texas, joined the lord this past weekend. She was born in November 1932 to parents, Louis Honc & Thelma Boone Honc. Sybil was raised in the Wharton area and attended Crescent school where she excelled as a student graduating Salutatorian and lettering in Volleyball, Music and Majorettes. She married Gordon (Sonny) Elliott of Glen Flora in April 1950 while he was proudly serving our country during the Korean conflict. At the end of his service they moved to Houston and Sybil had a successful career at Allstate Insurance in the adjustment division. In 1969 she retired with the adoption of their only child, Charles. She lived in the Southwest Houston area for 50 years and was active in the local Garden Club, Gethsemane Methodist Church, and Bayland Quilting Group. In the 2000's the couple relocated to the beautiful countryside of Needville Texas. Upon the death of her beloved husband of over 60 years, Sybil moved to the active community of Brookdale First Colony where she was able to continue her love of gardening, crafts and making new friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Louis Honc, sister and brother in-law Laverne and Elo Lutringer and many related family and friends too numerous to list but never forgotten. Survivors include son, Charles Elliott, wife Tracy Hunter Elliott, granddaughter Brooke (16) of Indianapolis and grandson Tex (19) of Fort Collins, Colorado.
A private burial at Evergreen Cemetery is planned with a Memorial to follow at a later date when it is safe for family and friends to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a gift in her name to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
