Theresa Ann Siska

      Theresa Siska, age 71, of Wharton, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 18, 1952, in Wharton, Texas to the late Emil and Agnes Hainey Miska.

      Theresa was raised in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School with the Class of 1971. She graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and pursued a career with Child Protective Services for over 25 years. She married Freddie Siska on May 24, 1975 in Wharton. Theresa lived her life according to the teachings of the Catholic Church and the Bible. She lived a life of service not only to God but to her family, friends, and community.  Theresa enjoyed teaching CCD, volunteering as an Eucharistic Minister, listening to polka music, and spending time with her family. She also had a love of dogs which was evident in her Pomeranian, Bella, who never left her side. The family would like to thank Rebecca Jimenes and Paula Eldridge for all their love, care, and support. 

     She is survived by her husband, Freddie Siska of Wharton, son, Justin Siska and wife, Heather of Wharton, daughter, Cori Kopecky and husband, Kevin of Needville, brother, Frank Miska and wife, Linda of Sweeny, and her grandchildren, Abigale, Sloane, Hannah, Riley, and Reagan.

         Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 9 am at Holy Family Catholic Church with rosary recited at 9:30 am. The Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church at 10 am. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
