Thomas Steiner, 85, of Wharton and formerly of Toledo Ohio and Phoenix Arizona, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 following a sudden illness at a Wharton hospital. He was born on June 24, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Melvin Francis and Irene Elizabeth Davis Steiner. Thomas grew up in Ohio and graduated from high school in Dayton. Thomas lived in the Toledo area for over 40 years, practicing as a bookkeeper and accountant. Following retirement, a change of location included moving to Phoenix Arizona for the next 30 years of his life. Finally, a need to be closer to family led him to the Wharton area for the last year and a half. Thomas enjoyed traveling, going out to eat, dancing and just could not pass a slot machine without trying his luck. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Luann Marie Sunley and husband, Christopher of Alvin and son, Randall Scott Steiner and wife, Julie of Wharton, grandchildren, Jason Foster, Matthew Steiner, Savannah Hill and Tierney Steiner and great grandchildren, Madison, Lincoln, Kaydin, Jamie Foster and Bailey Steiner.
