Verna Kaye Syptak, 70, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in a personal care home in Richmond surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 26, 1951 in East Bernard Texas to the late John and Lois Marie Otto Browder.

Kaye, as she was known, was raised in the East Bernard area and graduated from East Bernard High School. She later attended Sam Houston State University. She married James Lee Syptak on November 26, 1971 in East Bernard. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, being involved with her church and teaching Sunday School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of East Bernard for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Michael Allen.

She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, James Lee Syptak, Sr. of East Bernard, son, Jim Syptak, Jr and wife, Amy of East Bernard and daughter Lesley Allen of San Antonio, grandchildren, Ava, Seth and Abby Allen, sister, Jan Manning and husband, Terry of San Antonio, sisters-in-law, Florence Netzel and husband, Allen and Dorothy Syptak both of Pearland and her nieces, Debbie Vorpe and husband, Tom and Dawn Netzel both of Pearland.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 5 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in East Bernard. Graveside services will follow at the East Bernard Methodist Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Church Fellowship Hall. Burial will follow at the East Bernard Methodist Church Cemetery in East Bernard.
