William Huebner was born to George Lee and Leta Belle Taylor Huebner in Lane City, Texas on December 6, 1930. He left us to join the Lord on February 8, 2021 in Bellaire, Texas.
William, or “Bill” as everyone called him, grew up in a farming and ranching family in Lane City, Texas. His father, mother and four brothers worked as a family to grow rice and raise cattle in Lane City and Don Tol. While growing up, his parents instilled in him a strong work ethic and love for music. He became an accomplished tuba player.
BiIl joined the United States Army in 1954 and shortly after was stationed in Germany. In 1955, he met the love of his life, Jutta Bartsch. They both knew they had found their perfect partners, were married and moved back to the US in 1957.
They started their married life in the US with two children and an unlimited future ahead of them. Bill attended the University of Houston while working at various jobs to support his family. After U of H, he started working in electrical engineering and design at Fluor and later Brown and Root in Houston and continued in this field for the rest of his career. Bill was also an avid tinkerer and was always figuring out new ways to redesign and improve virtually everything he came into contact with.
Even though Bill was a dedicated worker, he was an even better father. He made sure that he provided for everything his family needed. This was especially true for the love, care, and guidance he gave his children. He set a great example for what it meant to be an outstanding father. Even through his later life, his children knew that he was always there for them and would do anything to help and support them. He loved them so much.
Bill’s true passion in life was his beloved wife, Jutta. She was his life! Over their 65 years of marriage, in every struggle, every celebration, every challenge, and every victory, they lived life as a team. As long as they were together, anything was possible. As parents, they were fantastic. As husband and wife, they were perfect. In their later years, Bill’s focus was solely on taking care of Jutta and he did this with unending love, courage and self-sacrifice. He has now joined her so that they may be together in Heaven.
Bill was grateful for the love and support of his brothers, their wives and children, his neighbors and his friends who had been there for him and his family. He truly knew that he was never alone.
Bill is survived by his loving children, William S. Huebner, Michael B. Huebner (Darcy), Nanette L. Bond (David), Roger G. Huebner (Judy), his six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, his sister-in-law, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Jutta Huebner, his parents George Lee and Leta Taylor Huebner, his brothers George, Marcus, Bert, and David.
