William Meadows Kennedy

William Kennedy, 90, of Houston, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 3, 2024. William was born on October 13, 1933, in San Antonio to the late Alson Rankin Kennedy  and Percy Marie Meadows Kennedy.

William was raised San Antonio and Corpus Christi, graduating from high school in Corpus Christi. He later attended and graduated from Delmar University and the University of Houston. He married Reta Miller on August 31, 1957 in Wharton. He was a coach for many years, teaching his love of sports to many in the Houston area. Fishing, hunting and BBQing were also passions that he had. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alson Rankin Kennedy, Jr and wife, Dorothy Manning Kennedy, and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kennard Dwain Miller and wife, Barbara Weber Miller. 

William Kennedy is survived by his son, Kelly Rankin Kennedy of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Saturday, February 10, 2024, after 1 pm at Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton with Graveside services following at 2 pm. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
