Yvonne Prats

Yvonne Marie Prats, born on May 19, 1967, passed away on January 19, 2025, after an unnecessary fight for her life in Richmond, Texas. She was 57 years old. Yvonne shared a remarkable 40-year marriage with her husband, Christopher Chimelak. Together, they were each other's inspiration and unwavering support, embodying a love that kept them "forever young." Yvonne had a unique ability to bring joy to those around her, often going out of her way to make even strangers smile. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Helen Prats; her brother, Tony Prats; and her aunts, Mary B. Prats and Maria N. Prats. Yvonne is lovingly remembered by her sister, Suzy Prats; her nephew, Elliot Michael Prats; her brother, Stuart Prats (Jennie); her uncle, Michael Prats; his daughters, Delicia Thayer, Barbara Prats Neely (Roger), Teresa Prats Galegher (Kerry), and his son, Steven Michael Prats. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Joey Chimelak and Ernie Lozano (Cathy); her sister-in-law Mary Chimelak; and her great-aunt Sandy Dietrich. A devoted animal lover, Yvonne worked for several years at Sealy Veterinary Clinic, where she brought smiles to both people and animals alike. A longtime resident of Lissie, Texas, she found joy in exploring the backroads in searching for critters and cherished quiet moments spent reading. Her deep faith in God guided her life, and she prayed continually. A memorial service will be held in Yvonne's honor on February 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Wharton Funeral Home, 515 E Boling Hwy, Wharton, TX 77488. Yvonne's vibrant spirit and boundless compassion will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace.
