Katherine Barron

Katherine Barron, 52, of Wharton passed away on March 26, 2023 at a local hospital.  She was born on February 19, 1971 in El Campo to the late Rogelio Montez and Lola Salinas Montez.

Katherine was a 1989 graduate of Wharton High School.  She worked in Medical billing for many years at UTMB in Sugar Land.  She liked to bake and cook.  She enjoyed watching movies with her family, going to the beach and fishing.  Trying new restaurants and bakeries was also a favorite of Katherines.  Her greatest joy came from times spent with her family, especially her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Rogelio Montez.

She is survived by her husband, Frankie Avila of Wharton; daughters Amanda Barron and husband, Ricardo Flores of Rosenberg; brother, Ricky Montez and wife, Maria Rodriguez of Wharton; grandchildren, Carlos Barron, Leia Flores and Maverick Flores. Along with many close friends.

Funeral services for Katherine Barron will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 10am at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home.
